I normally plan to feature between 3-4 lines of a poem for an excerpt, but when I read Ms. Claudia McGill’s recent poem “Haiku Group Stars,” it was this one line that sent my imagination sailing for the illustration. So I ran with it! The whole set of 7 haikus is wonderful and I definitely recommend heading over here to read the whole poem. I have been a longtime fan of Ms. McGill’s work, especially her collage and mail art, which she features on her poetry blog. Drawing (ink on paper) and composition by me.
