Excerpt Tuesday – Manifesto – Berry

Manifesto_Berry1

I was introduced to Wendell Berry’s poem “Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front” by a recent article in the New York Times. The article detailed the author’s attempt to connect with her troubled teenaged daughter through poetry – a beautiful and worthwhile read about love and parenting and poetry. I looked up the entire text of Mr. Berry’s poem – you can read the whole thing here – and began a series of collages in response. Here is the first one – I’ll debut the others this week! Collage and composition by me.
